At Integrated Farms, 100% grass-fed and grass-finished means exactly that: grass only, from start to finish.

No marketing gimmicks. No grain finishing. No corn. No soy. Our cattle are raised exclusively on grasses and forage, 365 days a year.

We farm in Canada, where our climate means the good grazing season is relatively short—typically only about three months of the year. That does not change what our cattle eat.

Throughout the growing season, we harvest grasses from our farm and preserve them as dry hay and haylage (wet hay). This becomes the foundation of our cattle's diet throughout the year, especially during our long Canadian winters when fresh pasture simply is not available.

It is a straightforward farming cycle: we grow the grass, we harvest the grass, we preserve the grass, and we feed that grass to our cattle 365 days a year.

Our cattle are both grass-fed AND grass-finished. They are never switched to corn, soy, grain or a grain-based finishing ration before harvest. From beginning to end, grasses and forage remain their diet.

Our fields have also been managed without synthetic fertilizer for well over a decade. Instead, we rely on the livestock we raise to help naturally return nutrients and organic matter to our soil.

Regenerative Farming From the Ground Up

Our farm works as a cycle. During the growing season, our pasture-raised chickens naturally fertilize the fields as they are moved across the land. During the winter months, when our cattle are housed in the barns, we collect their manure and later spread it across our fields.

That manure helps fertilize the fields. The fields grow the grasses. We harvest those grasses to feed our cattle. And the cycle begins again.

Healthier Soil: Manure from our livestock naturally returns nutrients and organic matter to the soil, helping maintain fertility, soil structure and water retention.

Living Fields: Managing our land without routine synthetic fertilizer encourages diverse grasses, plants, insects, pollinators and other life.

Natural Nutrient Cycling: Rather than viewing manure as waste, it is an important resource on our farm. Nutrients produced by the animals are returned to the land that grows their feed, creating a natural farming cycle that has been used for generations.

Resilient Farmland: Building healthy soils and maintaining productive grasslands helps our land better handle periods of heavy rain, drought and changing growing conditions.

For us, raising 100% grass-fed beef is not about following a trend or finding another claim to put on a package. It is simply how we raise and feed our cattle.
